Because we are a production studio, we are often away from our desks and phones. However, we always do our best to respond to emails promptly. When you email to request a quote, please include as many project details as possible such as size, quantity, materials, which helps us provide you a quote quickly.
Can you lasercut...Wood? Yes, most woods up to 1/2” thick, and some up to 3/4”
Note that some woods cannot be laser cut at all, and some plywood glues create noxious fumes and a significant fire hazard. If you wish to provide wood to be cut, we will need a sample to confirm that it cuts well and that it is safe to do so.
Acrylic/Plexi? Yes, up to 1” thick
Leather and Fabrics? Usually yes but we strongly recommend a cut test to check compatibility for the specific fabric. Note that synthetic fabrics tend to cut best.
PETG? Yes
Metal? No, we cannot laser metal with our equipment...yet
Anything else? Yes, just ask us. Generally, we are willing to test anything as long as it’s safe.
Do you have an order minimum?Our shop minimum is $75 which helps cover file setup, pulling materials, and calibrating the laser required for each project. However, we do not have a minimum quantity.
What’s your turn around?Our standard turnaround is 5-7 business days from production approval.
Projects with high quantities, specialty materials, or large-scale engineering may require longer lead times.
How large can you make things? Our laser bed is 48” by 96”, which is the largest we can cut any material as a single piece. However, we often construct projects in pieces when making larger items.
Do you charge to make a sample? Yes, we do charge for a full production sample. A sample requires the same administrative overhead, file prep, and production setup as a full production run and has to be done all over again for the full production run. However, we are happy to provide samples and photos of similar projects if you are wanting to see a particular print method or material.
Do you offer shipping? Yes, we can ship your order. We can also build custom crates and frames for shipping if needed. If your order needs to ship, it’s best to tell us at the beginning so we can include shipping material in the quote if necessary.
Can I visit the studio? Yes! We have a showroom with plenty of samples if you want view materials or explore creative options for your project. We do ask that you schedule an appointment so that we have staff available to meet with you and answer any questions you may have.
Do you engrave on objects? We can engrave on select objects if you are needing a large number with the same artwork. However, we’re not really not set up for single item engraving. Our lasers are designed for flat materials so curved objects like tumblers have a narrow area of engraving area before the laser beam is out of focus.
What if I’m not sure my material will work for laser cutting? If it’s a material we haven’t worked with before, we are happy to test cut on your material to check for laser compatibility.
